Kelly Nash was born in Davie, Florida, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. Kelly Nash spent her childhood fishing and boating with her father Ed Nash. Kaitlyn Nash is her sister , and Carolyn Nash is her brother. Kelly Nash is from the English, Irish and Swedish Ethnic groups. Her great-grandfather was born in Portugal and later immigrated to the United States.

 Kelly Nash was a huge fan of the Miami Marlins since she was young. While Nash was a fan of sports from a young age she always thought she would become a journalist. Kelly Nash received a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina in 2006. Clemson awarded her a Master's Degree in Youth Development Leadership. In exchange for covering the soccer and baseball teams during the Sports information Department career, she was awarded full athletic scholarships through the Clemson Academic Department.

 Kelly Nash is MLB Network studio host and hosts several shows on the network , including the evening highlights show, Quick Pitch. She is also an NHL Network Studio host, Appearing on the Nightly Game recap Show, On The Fly. She joined the MLB Network in March 2015. In the year 2015 she began contributing to the NHL Network.
